About Debananda Roy

I am Debananda Roy (Ph.D.), have completed my doctoral studies from the Indian Institute of Technology (ISM), Dhanbad, India in the field of air pollution management (Environmental Engineering). I am currently working as a postdoctoral researcher at Yonsei University (from Dec. 2016 to now (5 years). I also have 3 years of teaching (Assistant Professor) and 2 years of industrial experience (Technical Executive) in India. Recently, I have finished a project as a Korean Research Fellowship (KRF) postdoctoral researcher in South Korea. Moreover, I have following technical skills. Air Pollution Dispersion Model: AERMOD Receptor Model : Positive Matrix Factorization Statistical Data Analysis : SPSS, Monte Carlo simulations Human Health Risk Models :(a) Cancer and Non-cancer Risk Assessment,(b) Exposure Pathway (ingestion, dermal absorption, and inhalation),(c) Human Respiratory Tract (HRT) Mass Deposition Model,(d) Quantitative Microbial Risk Assessment (QMRA) Model (Probability to infection and non-cancer risk). Research contributions and interests: 1. Air quality assessment (indoor and atmospheric), physical & chemical characterization of particulate matter, emission inventory, and source apportionment of particulate matter (PM10 and PM2.5). Physical & chemical characterization, Source apportionment, and human health risk assessment of Soil. Air quality and human health risk assessment for indoor and atmospheric particulate matter bound elements (carcinogenic and non-carcinogenic)- a) Subway system, b) Indoor environment, c) Urban and Industrial area 4. Bio-aerosols (Presently working on)- a) Emission and dispersion of bio-aerosols from the wastewater treatment plant b) Emission and dispersion of bio-aerosols from the solid waste treatment plant c) Probability to infection and non-cancer risk due to exposure to microorganisms and pathogens.
