About Debarshi Chatterjee

With over 20 years of actuarial experience in Canadian, US, and Indian insurance markets, I am a seasoned P&C actuarial professional and a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, UK. As the AVP of Corporate Actuarial at Definity, I lead the Strategic Risk team that oversees climate change modelling, capital management, catastrophe exposure monitoring, reinsurance modelling, Financial Condition Testing, and ORSA Stress Testing. My core competencies include valuation, capital, risk management, and financial reporting, as well as consulting. I have spoken at various seminars in Canada and India, published a blog post on climate change, and contributed to various Educational Notes for the CIA. I have published an article on the analysis of the bankruptcy of HIH Insurance and its effect on the Australian insurance market, demonstrating my knowledge and interest in the global actuarial landscape.
