About Debashis Mitra

It gives me immense pleasure to share that I have taught several courses in graduation and postgraduation disciplines. I got opportunity to teach English Communication Skills and Personality Studies to the students of Science, Arts, Commerce, Law and IT in Guru Ghasidas Vishwavidyalaya, Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh. From a divergent academic scenario, I gained different ways of understanding and approach to the subject. Apart from the subject English Communication Skills I taught several English Literature subjects including European Classical Drama, Shakespearean Drama (As You Like It, Macbeth), History of British Literature, Indian Writings in English, Modern Literary Theory to B.A. and M.A. students. A number of years in teaching that I experienced from this university provided me life-long lesson with critical repertoire and heterogeneous knowledge about learning and teaching pedagogy in changing contexts. I worked as an Assistnt Professor in English, Dept. of Applied Science & Humanities, Government Engineering College, Daman, DNH & DD. I taught subjects including Effective Technical Communication (ETC), English, Contributor Personality Development Programme (CPD), Language Laboratory Practices, Professional Ethics (PE), Organizational Behavior (OB), Economics for Engineers (EE) and Principles of Economics and Management (PEM) to the students of engineering disciplines. A number of different approaches to the subject of English language skills containing some other ramified subjects as well has played an instrumental role in experiencing newer forms of teaching- learning process. As I am currently working as an Assistant Professor in English, Dept of Liberal Arts, ICFAI University, Tripura, I feel happy to share that more than five (5) years of teaching experience from different workplaces provided me a platform with which I continue to give my level utmost to the students of different sectors. I wish to play a pertinent role in the field of education, subject of English, to be precise, by utilizing whatever I have learnt so far and intend to create an engaging teaching-learning ambience within and outside classroom through innovative pedagogical and qualitative methods.
