As head of Value-Added Services, Commerce One, the largest B2B company in the world at that time, I consulted externally for customers of Commerce One that were manufacturing and service companies. Manufacturing was a particularly happening area where Commerce One software was being sold to enable reverse auctioning of raw materials and inventory management in manufacturing companies. Ashok Leyland, General Motors, Boeing, British Telecom, Coal India and NTPC were major customers. Pre-sales and Value-Added Services around manufacturing were my forte. As internal consultant, Brand Capital, Times Group, hand held both start-ups and SMEs for investment and enhancement of brand value by Bennett, Coleman & Co. Interacted with more than 270 companies in the start-up / SME space. Engaged with Oracle Corporation, Microsoft Corporation, Novell, SAP, Cisco Hewlett Packard as customers for ET – Edge. Managed 200 plus teams for InfoPlanet Technologies, 30 plus internal team and 200 plus consultants’ team from PWC and Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) for Commerce One for IT development.
