About Debbie Devonish
Debbie Devonish is an Associate Professor and the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Science & Sport. Dr. Devonish was the Head of the Biology Division for six years in the school of Natural and Applied Sciences at the University of Technology, Jamaica and at the end of March 2023, the former Director for the Centre for Science-based Research, Entrepreneurship and Continuing Studies (CSRECS) She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Zoology and Botany, a Master of Philosophy in Zoology (Entomology), a Postgraduate Diploma in Science Education and a PHD in Education with Leadership emphasis. Her research interests are varied: Professional Development of Teachers, STEM teacher training, Assessment of Science Teaching and Learning, Curriculum Development; Forensic Biology; Entomology and Ecological Studies. She is a former board member and chaired the Membership Committee for Mixed Methods International Research Association Caribbean Chapter (MMIRA-CC) and she is the executive member-Consultant for the Association of Science Teachers of Jamaica (ASTJ)
