About Debbie Gardner

When I was in college in the early 1980s, I loved education but had no real sense of direction for my life. While I was a junior at Texas Tech, I met the love of my life. We married and moved away from Lubbock to the DFW area before I finished my degree. As two young people, we quickly became involved in building our life and my education remained as a goal for completion. Then, in the spring of 2013, I decided that dream had been unfulfilled for too long. So, in the midst of trying to run a growing real estate company, I committed to completing my degree at Texas Tech. I finally graduated in December of 2015. This time, I was able to engage in courses that satisfied my desire for learning. I studied personal finance, so that I would have a deeper knowledge of ways in which I could assist our real estate clients. I gained a more in-depth understanding of Asset Management, Risk Management, Estate Planning, and was able to contribute to the academic discussion about Real Estate procurement based upon my previous knowledge and experience. Furthermore, I love our country. So, I engaged in a focus in History. These courses expanded my understanding of historical issues or race and discrimination and gave depth to some of the issues that continue to plague the world in modern times. Finally, I engaged in studies in English. One of my favorite classes focused on Women Noble Prize winners in Literature. I now have a desire to read various authors that I might otherwise have never been introduced.
