In October 2009 I began the journey of higher education to obtain a Masters Degree in Mental Health Counseling, and in September 2013 I received my Master's Degree. In January 2014 I began the journey to continue education studying for a Ph.D. in Mind, Body, Medicine with Saybrook University. I suspended this educational journey January 2016 so that I can focus my time on my clientele and helping my aging father and the family business, as well as carving out time for myself in this busy life. I launched the opening of a Private Practice in counseling in the month of February 2014 an ongoing counseling service in the Florence community, Siuslaw Valley Counseling. My counseling approach is holistic, mindful, motivational and positive life change(s) seeking. After achieving my LPC licensure, August 2016, about 4-5 months later I encountered an economic stumbling block, as Medicare will not authorize invoices of billing until I have a FULL Ph.D. So I found a paying job from May 2017 to June 2018 with Umpqua Bank that led me to an opportunity to work with and for Florence Habitat for Humanity as a Family Services Manager serving our beautiful little rural coastal community of Florence Oregon, from June 2018 to March 2019! Habitat has come to an end, sadly, as I enjoyed that opportunity, while it lasted. Grant funds depleted in March. I am on an active search for a new job and have a couple in mind. We will see where they go. I will update my Linked in Profile as things develop. Update: I am a mobile notary and travel up and down the Oregon Coast to facilitate Loan Closings and the Real Estate Sales and Purchases of property. I also do Insurance Inspections, both are paying my monthly obligations. My days of availability for Counseling Services are by appointment only, usually Monday through Thursday.
