About Debbie Hernon

I have extensive experience in Town Centre Management and during the 14 years in the role I represented the North West as Regional Chair of the ATCM network. This enabled me to help influence National Policy and champion best practice for town centre's. During this period I have delivered numerous campaigns and events such as food, drink and music festivals, Christmas Events, Love Your Local Market campaigns and Independent Retailer promotions. I have been shortlisted for several awards over the years with ATCM such as the Rochdale Feel Good Festival, Best Town Team and Rochdale Emporium, a start up business hub in a town centre created within an empty shop with a high quality cafe. I also won an award for the Rochdale Emporium in the Business and Economy section of the Action for Market Town's Awards 2013. All this experience has stood me in good stead for my new career as the Wheatsheaf Shopping Centre Manager. In 2017 I moved to Charter Walk Shopping Centre where I have remained over the last 3 years developing footfall, creating Community Marketing/Events, creating allotments, championing disabilities, the Autistic Community positioning the Centre at the heart of the local area. We have been shortlisted and achieved many awards over this time and this has been recognised in the local community by the continued increase in footfall.
