About Debbie Komanski

Debbie Komanski has served as the CEO/Executive Director of the Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens since January 2004. Under her leadership, the Polasek Museum was recognized in 2016 as Community Organization of the Year by the Winter Park Chamber of Commerce and spearheaded the effort to save, relocate, and restore Winter Park’s historic Capen House. In 2015, Komanski was named one of Winter Park’s most influential people by Winter Park Magazine. She has been recognized with numerous awards for her service to the community including: Central Florida Women’s Resource Center Summit Award, 2016; Orlando Family Magazine Super Women, 2016; Winter Park Chamber of Commerce Community Leader of the Year, 2016; Winter Park History Museum’s Peacock Ball Honoree, 2015; UCF President’s Award, 1998; UCF Distinguished Alumnus of the Year, 1987. Komanski's current and past service on nonprofit boards includes: The Mayflower Retirement Community (Vice President), UCF Alumni (Past President), UCF Foundation (Emeritus Director), UCF Town & Gown Council (Past President), Rotary Club of Winter Park (Past President), Leadership Winter Park, and the Women's Resource Center of Florida.
