About Debbie Silver

Dr. Debbie Silver is an award-winning educator with 30 years experience as a classroom teacher, staff development instructor, and university professor. Her style has been described as "where laughter and learning collide." Her numerous recognitions include being named the Louisiana State Teacher of the Year and the outstanding Education Alumnus for Louisiana Tech University. Along the way she has taught almost every grade level and most every kind of student. Debbie draws on her unique background to share insights into the way teachers work, how students learn, and the best ways to give every student a reasonable chance at success. Her expertise has led her to be an invited author for numerous educational journal articles and blogs. Additionally, she is the author of the best-selling book, Fall Down 7 Times, Get Up 8: Teaching Kids to Succeed. She co-authored Because You Teach: A Dynamic Musical Resource for Innovative Staff Development and Middle School Matters: Innovative Classroom Activities. Songs she co-wrote with Monte Selby are featured on his CDs. As one of the most popular keynoters and professional development presenters in the United States she has delighted audiences in 49 states as well as throughout Canada, Europe, Asia, Mexico, and the Middle East. She consistently delights both readers and audience participants with her comedic delivery and astute insights into student and teacher behavior.
