About Deborah Arsenault

Deborah works as a Therapist and a Spiritual Care Practitioner in clinical practice and Spiritual Coordinator in long-term care. She graduated with a Master of Divinity majoring in Pastoral Care and Counselling from McMaster Divinity College in 2017. In 2017, Deborah was Ordained with Community Christian Fellowship Church of Canada, is a registered psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, and is a member of the Canadian Association for Spiritual Care. She draws heavily upon psychosynthesis, trauma, loss, and existential therapies for the psycho-spiritual health of the people she works with. In 2020 she completed the comprehensive Clinical Pastoral Education training (CPE) with the Canadian Association for Spiritual Care – the governing body responsible for training and certifying chaplains across Canada. Additionally, informing her chaplaincy with certification from the Institute of Traditional Medicine in end-of-life matters. Deborah is from the Christian tradition and engages a spirit of ecumenism and inclusivity in her work providing a safe space for individuals seeking to integrate faith in their healing journey. Rev. Deborah has provided clinical counselling for individuals struggling with unaddressed root issues of childhood trauma leading to emotional and behavioural patterns perpetrating disruption in their relationships, vocation, and spiritual well-being. Uncovering the root issues of trauma allows healing potential and motivation to thrive in life. The struggle with stress & anxiety, depression, addiction recovery, OCD, eating disorders, complex grief, PTSD, and relationship dysfunction, are treatable from a holistic approach to psychological and pastoral care.
