About Deborah Bean

My approach is to achieve prompt completion of financial transactions whilst managing risk and being a true business partner. My reputation and practice has been built over 25 years on my ability to foster long term relationships, building loyalty because of proven performance and results. Working for household names and industry leaders in financial services, I have a track record of taking ownership and driving outcomes that are commercial, customer, client and relationship focused and within defined limits of risk appetite. I do this by building partnerships with all parties at all levels, successfully providing commercial advice to garner understanding and risk mitigation and to deliver an outcome. I understand broader industry pressures and the commercial drivers of both financiers and borrowers. Although experienced in all areas of finance transactions, I am a specialist in lending transactions for property development, agriculture, aged care, retirement villages and innovative finance arrangements (for example: sustainability-linked loans). I believe that people and culture build and foster successful organisations and I personally succeed where opportunity and collaboration are encouraged and a win is judged to be greater if it’s as a result of a group effort. As well as being a partner in K & LGates Finance team in the Brisbane office, I am a member of the global K & LGates women in profession committee.
