About Deborah Black

Deborah Black’s multi-faceted career began in the arts, with positions at numerous museums and at The Artists Foundation – the Commonwealth’s artists’ service organization. After managing the Boston Globe’s Scholastic Awards program and recognizing the impact that private firms could have in the arts, she moved into commercial real estate development and management, bringing art, visual expression, and cultural experiences to varied audiences as an integral part of her marketing initiatives. Debbie developed expertise in a broad range of marketing communications strategies through her work at several of Boston’s most respected real estate firms - most recently at New England Development. She also gained experience in transportation and transportation facilities – first as Director of Transportation at Prudential Center where she managed traffic mitigation programs as part of the center’s redevelopment. She also directed retail marketing activities at Boston’s South Station for Beacon Management Company - working in concert with Amtrak and the MBTA - and subsequently developed and implemented marketing and tenant outreach activities at numerous airports while working at MarketPlace Development. In addition to her current work as a marketing consultant, she is a visual artist whose work has been displayed at Featherstone Center for the Arts, the Martha’s Vineyard Film Center and the Tisbury Council on Aging. Her artwork is in private collections in Edgartown, Amherst, and West Tisbury, MA; Culver City, CA; Old Lyme, CT; and Chelsea, VT.
