About Deborah Blatt

Founder and Executive Director of The Sharing Shelf, Westchester Clothing Bank for Children. I founded The Sharing Shelf in 2009 to address clothing insecurity and help meet the basic material needs of low income children. I have grown The Sharing Shelf from a small grassroots clothing program to a larger agency serving thousands of children each year and providing them with quality, age, size, and season appropriate clothing. Our umbrella of programs includes: Teen Boutique,a free store for teens where they are empowered to shop for a free wardrobe in a store-like environment stocked with new and excellent condition used clothing; Teen Boutique Pop-Ups, a series of free shopping days held off-site; Backpacks to School, an annual effort that provides thousands of children and teens with new backpacks filled with grade appropriate school supplies; the Diaper Bank for Westchester, in partnership with the Junior League of Central Westchester; Coats for Schools that provides coats to area schools; and our Hygiene Bank that provides period products and toiletries to the infants, children and teens we serve.
