About Deborah Brustman

In lieu of giving a summary of my job experiences, which can be found below, I wanted to share one experience in particular that changed my life both personally and professionally. The most eye opening experience that I have had thus far in my career is spending close to a year in Manila, Philippines working on a pilot program for UHG's provider services call center. This gave me experience in global vendor operations along with international business. During my time overseas, I trained 50 call center agents to research and resolve commercial claim issues. I had the opportunity to mentor agents, on the job call coaches, trainers, supervisors, and managers. The trip forced me to think outside of the box and flex my skills to the different learning styles the agents had, which were wildly different than what I experienced in the US. The Philippines taught me a lot about leadership and team building, and in turn, made me into a better leader.
