I am Dr. Deborah Beidel, the Executive Director of UCF RESTORES®. UCF RESTORES is the leading mental wellness clinic and research center for first responders in Florida and across the U.S, dedicated to research, education, and cutting-edge treatment of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other trauma-related conditions.Over the course of my career, I have authored more than 300 scientific publications on the treatment of anxiety disorders and PTSD. With the backing of over $31 million in federal research funding to-date, I specialize in developing effective treatments for anxiety and PTSD and disseminating them into standard clinical practice.At UCF RESTORES, my team offers no-cost treatment services to those in need, including our hallmark, VR-assisted Intensive Outpatient Program. The center also offers a series of evidence-based peer support and resiliency services, in addition to APA-approved Cultural Competency training programs for mental health clinicians interested in serving first responders. UCF RESTORES' Critical Incident Response Team is often called upon to provide mental health support following a crisis or critical incident.
