About Deborah Gibbs

With over ten years of experience in the non-profit sector, I am passionate about supporting families with seriously ill children. As the Associate Director of Development at Ronald McDonald House Charities Southwestern Ontario (RMHC-SWO), I oversee the fundraising and communications strategies for the organization's fund development plan, leading a dedicated staff and volunteers team. I have successfully secured major gifts, grants, and sponsorships and increased donor engagement and retention through various channels and events. I have also enhanced the brand awareness and reputation of RMHC-SWO through compelling storytelling, media relations, and social media campaigns. I hold professional certificates in Non-Profit/Public/Organizational Management and Communications and Public Relations from Western University and have completed a Nonprofit Management course from Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management. I have also developed my skills in team leadership, project management, and strategic planning through my previous roles as a Fund Development and Communications Coordinator and a Lead Family Services Coordinator at RMHC-SWO. I am driven by the mission of RMHC to provide a home away from home for families with sick children, and enjoy bringing my diverse perspectives and experiences to the Development team. In my time outside of RMHC-SWO, my passion for supporting children and families continues through my work volunteering on the Marketing & Fund Development Committee at Sari Therapeutic Riding as well as serving youth in the community as the President of the Optimist Club of London-Fanshawe.
