About Deborah Mullan

I'm an Adult Literacy Specialist - Vocational LLN practitioner and a qualified ESL teacher. I am a Vocational Practitioner and Assessor for many Training Packages I have consuklted to givernment on Service Skills boards. I'm a TAE facilitator and mentor for Certificate IV TAE and Diploma VET courses. I conduct TNAs across many industry sectors and help design customised industry training solutions. I've experience in Adult Literacy and Foundations Skills courses. I conduct industry research and interview staff to help companies review their staff skills and directions. I'm a Writer of VET resources for several RTOs and different client cohorts. I have a wide business interest in VET and industry training. I am the Vice President and long term committee member of VALBEC - Vic Adult Literacy and Basic Educ Committee. I'm an active member of ACAL, I Produced a video called The Top 10 Training Methods in Vocational Training. I ran my own Registered Training Organisation for 6 years until we had a family tragedy. I have trained as a Community teacher of ESL and Adult literacy in Neighbourhood houses. My goal is to ultimately complete my doctorate in Workplace Literacy and Training trends across industry sectors and compare that to other western countries. I regularly travel to the UK to attend university forums and conferences. In 2019 I attended the Learner Conference in Belfast UK. In 2016 I attended the National VET conference in Birmingham. I delivered a presentation on my Video and Learning resource at the Learner Conference in New York in July 2014. In 2012 I attended several London universities for research. In 2009 I went to London, Leeds UK and Dublin, Ireland to begin some initial research into this project and to attend a work-based learning conference, several literacy organisations and South Bank University in London. Specialties: Adult Literacy Practitioner, Industry Language and Literacy projects and conducting assessments of staff to assess their vocational skills and develop training plans. Development of realistic and valuable training programs for different workers or students. I'm interested in quality and meaningful learning outcomes.
