About Deborah Pierce

My career has spanned diverse legal, business and human resource experiences but one constant has always been my creative approach to solving complex challenges. I find that by using strategic insight, aligning competing interests and identifying the right resources, I can resolve virtually any problem, from a Board of Directors’ business decision, to a warehouse employee dispute, and everything in between. Prior to Integrity Staffing, I have held senior positions at companies such as DuPont, Campbell Soup, Continental Airlines and Sears. The positions with these Fortune 100 companies prepared me for the leadership roles with even greater enterprise wide responsibilities at a billion dollar Regional Bank and now at a multimillion privately held company. I’ve had many accomplishments but the one I’m most proud of is presenting before the U.S. Supreme Court in Integrity Staffing vs Busk and obtaining a unanimous decision that determined that the time spent in the exit screening process after an end of work shift was not compensable. What I appreciate about Integrity is that no matter our assigned area of responsibility, all team members have a “can do” attitude. This has given me the opportunity to make many impactful contributions to the company. For instance, I introduced the Integrity Staffing Alternate Dispute Resolution (ISSADR) program, which allows for mandatory arbitration or mediation of legal disputes and class action waivers. The advantage for our clients is that in most cases legal disputes are covered as third party beneficiaries. Day-to-day, I provide strategic and case legal advice to minimize legal liability while upholding the company’s business objectives. I also craft policies that are legally compliant but support our culture of advocating for our employees and providing an inclusive workplace. As someone who is intellectually curious, I plan to expand education opportunities to our internal business teams. I also believe in accountability and will be launching a legal operations management system to develop and track metrics of the legal function. I have many interests outside of law and enjoy power walking, yoga, bible study and working with non-profit organizations that support return to work, teach life-management skills and encourage educational advancement.
