About Deborah Rhoads

My new role as a data analyst is my 5th career! Started as a dental hygienist. Next came sales careers in real estate and car sales, I then graduated from Penn State with a BS in Organizational Leadership. Eight years ago I had the opportunity to attempt to quickly learn automated controls graphics design, so I went for it and landed a job at Penn State. I then was presented with Smartsheet. Learning how to leverage Smartsheet became my ticket to a role as a data analyst with a larger group at Penn State. With the controls group I set up numerous work flows and data bases, dashboards and reports. I created a website to onboard work that was trackable, shareable and manageable. Other groups became interested in my analytical and organizational skills and asked for assistance with short term and some long term special projects. Now I am a part of the Business Performance Office and learning new skills as a data analyst. I just completed the Google Data Analytics Specialization and will now move on to obtain more training in Power BI. This career seems to be a capstone for my interests and my degree in Organizational Leadership from Penn State.
