About Deborah Rigler

First, let me be so bold as to say that my life’s journey has always been directed by the Almighty God! With that stated, I received an Associates Degree in Recording Engineering of the Arts from Full Sail University in Winter Park Florida in 1991. After graduation, I worked in the Recording/Music industry for a time in my younger years as an assistant engineer, engineer, artist manager/co-manager, live sound engineer & booking agent out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I spent time in Central Florida and Philadelphia in the early to mid 90’s working in the hospitality industry as a caterer/cook in between gigs. I truly enjoyed cooking and serving others in this capacity. However, My direction changed once more and led me to Phoenix Arizona where I worked as a sound engineer for Deer Valley Baptist Church. My love of everything music was strong, but I felt a unique calling to serve youth/children and children with special abilities! I started out as a church youth leader in the late 90’s which lead to a position @ Deer Valley Unified School District as a special education teaching assistant. Eventually my path led me to work with troubled youth at the Arizona Department of Juvenile Corrections as a YCO l and later a YCO ll. This was very rewarding for me and hopefully for the young lives that I was blessed to share time with. I enjoyed 12 years in corrections, however, my path made a 180 back to the DVUSD and serving my students with special abilities, as a Paraprofessional. And so I remain! Also in 2014 I was blessed with the opportunity to work as a respite care worker to a little boy with Downs Syndrome. He and his family are a huge part of my life to this day and forever! I’m not sure when or if my journey will change course, but I will try to always be prepared for the new adventure it holds! Thank you for reading
