My title currently is HR Administrator, but my job description encompasses many things outside of that box including, but not limited to, Safety Management/Coordinator, insurance compliance, ISO auditing/compliance, Office Management, Benefits Management, Time card maintenance, not to mention various other as they arise such as completing immigration application materials along with other government forms, non-disclosure agreement maintenance, collections, website maintenance, expense approvals, creation of printed materials for events and advertising, subcontractor prequalification materials preparation.the title is about 10% of the actual job description. Before current post, I held similar positions in other offices that saw me doing some of the duties listed above as well as bookkeeping for the company in question. I am fluent in Sage and familiar with QB. These positions were heavily weighted in the bookkeeping qualification, and I was responsible for handling receivables and payables in the hundreds of thousands of dollars range, as well as reconciling each side of the businesses in question for receivables and payables. I was responsible for payroll and all employee standards like government remittances, ROE's, T4's,and garnishees, Each company had me do specific to themselves bureaucratic requirements such as ensuring we qualify for government "bond" type things like natural gas rebates, advertising rebates, TSBC rebates, gov't loan forgiveness and the list goes on. Before office administration I was in the field of Executive Management in retail fashion, overseeing stores on a national level generating over 15mllion dollars annually and having well over 150 employees report. As a District Manager, I hired and trained Store Managers and Assistant Managers and laid the groundwork to increase sales annually at District level. My success was measured in consistent bonus money I obtained and contests I won, including prizes of warm vacations and a pile of electronic equipment, not to mention clothing, food, and merchandise rewards, and of course trophies, taking the title of Manager of the Year in my first year at one company, to be followed by annual awards and vacations. I measured my success by retention and promotion of the direct reports I was responsible for hiring, training, and leading.I modelled consistent and ongoing coaching and leadership. I took those skills with me to run my own business for a number of years before returning to someone else' payroll as office administrator. A varied and fulfilling career behind and ahead.
