About Deborah Warin

Deborah Ross Warin is co founder and co director of The Renaissance Tours Company. While at Georgetown University as Director of Continuing Education for ten years, Deborah led more than twenty five academic tours to Italy in association with at Georgetown’s Charles Strong Center at Villa Le Balze in Fiesole, as well as spending a sabbatical semester there. In addition to her faculty position at Georgetown, Deborah has held leadership positions in higher education as a director at the American Council on Education, assistant vice president of Trinity University, as well as serving as expert adviser to the European Council's Higher Education, Civil Responsibility and Democracy Initiative in Strasbourg, France. She has been a member of the Executive Council for Liberal Studies at Georgetown University, and an adviser to Shakespeare Magazine, where she was Managing Editor its founding year. Deborah has lectured on the Italian Renaissance in the US and abroad including a sold out speaking engagement at the Italian Cultural Institute at the Italian Embassy, The Smithsonian Associates, the Italian Cultural Society, and a lecture series for the Georgetown University Emeriti Learning Community. She teaches courses on Italian Renaissance culture and history at Georgetown both in the US and in Italy. Her current book project is on the Renaissance Court of Urbino. Since 2009, when Deborah and her husband Frank Ambrosio founded the Renaissance Tours Company, they have lead tours through Tuscany, Umbria, Emilia Romagna, the Veneto as well as to the cities of Florence and Venice. These culturally rich tours are offered to the public and may be taken for credit through Georgetown University School of Continuing Studies. In addition, the Company leads tours for private groups. She is currently working on her book in progress Battista Sforza: Body and Soul (Simon and Schuster).
