About Debra Bevins

If you open a box of childhood report cards, projects, and papers in my parent's basement, you will find an essay created by a middle school student with her sights set on becoming a nurse. Having had a lifelong passion for providing care and helping those within my community, I immediately embarked on a path of service to others. By becoming a firefighter/paramedic in 2007 and a registered nurse years later, I have concentrated my skills in the art of emergency medicine. I take pride in, and enjoy the challenge, of caring for individuals of all ages, with varying complaints. I strive to make a positive difference in each patient interaction. In 2019, I embarked on a new challenge and began teaching those who would one day take my place in emergency medical care. Taking on the role of Paramedic Program Director, I am able to combine my passion of helping others, with educating the next generation of paramedics. In addition to promoting my own knowledge, I can also engrain the importance of providing high-quality, evidence-based care and skilled assessment techniques to others. In 2023, I began attending my Master's Program with the goal of becoming a family nurse practitioner, with my sights set on specializing in emergency medical care.
