About Debra Killmeyer

As a leader in workforce development, I have applied my extensive knowledge of workforce development issues at the regional, state, and national levels. I have experience in educational and training needs of business, industry, higher education and K-12 across Pennsylvania and the tri-state region, as well as best practices in the provision of workforce development, economic development, and training in community colleges in both non-credit and credit options. As Assistant VP and Dean of Workforce Development, while also holding the position of Interim VP of Workforce Development, at Community College of Allegheny County, I am responsible for implementing credit and non-credit workforce development programs to align with community and workforce objectives. I have been successful in building strategic alliances with economic development entities, corporations, community groups, labor unions, and local government to enhance resources. I also serve as an institutional liaison among local, state, and federal economic and workforce training agencies. For the past three years I have been the Chair of the Vice Presidents of Workforce Affinity group for the Pennsylvania Community Colleges while also serving as the National Council for Continuing Education and Training (NCCET), Area Manager for Western Pennsylvania; both are professional volunteer roles. I have a Doctor of Education from Point Park University, as well as a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Teaching / Training from Penn State University. My undergraduate degree is from Robert Morris University in Business and Communications. In my spare time, I enjoy volunteering and community engagement, and am a member of numerous organizations.
