About Declan Loftus

My name is Declan Loftus, and I’m a videographer and drone pilot based in the Orlando, FL area with 5 years of professional experience. I’m originally from Chicago, and I have a deep passion for my craft. I’m also an avid Chicago sports fan for life! After graduating from the University of Dayton (Go Flyers!), I interned with the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League, gaining valuable experience in the sports industry. I primarily spent my time shooting games and social media content with players and coaches. My work appeared on their official social media channels, as well as on the video board during IceHogs games. Sadly, the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic cut my time in Rockford short, but it was great to bring my passion for videography and sports together in one place. My journey then took me to southern Indiana, where I began a career in television news. I spent the better part of 2 years covering Evansville’s most important stories while growing professionally, from a once in a lifetime tornado in Kentucky to local stories with national interests. In the midst of all the breaking news stories, I got the chance to continue shooting sports, primarily high school football and basketball. For the last two years, I’ve been working with the great team at WFTV in Orlando. I’ve covered big local and national stories with the help of some of the most experienced people in the industry. While working at WFTV, I obtained my FAA drone certification to help take my passion to another level.
