About Declan Woods

I am on a mission to 'transform every team'. I am working to achieve this by- leading teamGenie, a company that designs, coaches and develops teams so they 'release their magic'- creating teamSalient, the only BPS-accredited team effectiveness diagnostic tool globally. I work as a top team psychologist. I combine my leadership experience as a former Plc. executive and non-executive Director (NED), with deep psychological know-how and advanced coaching skills to help leaders and their teams collaborate. I wrote the 'go-to' handbook,'The Transformed Team' to help teams.I am Professor of Leadership Practice at King's College London (KCL) and an Advisory Council Member of Harvard Business Review (HBR).I am a Chartered and HCPC-Registered Psychologist, and was the first AC-accredited Master Coach and Master Team Coach. I earned a master’s degrees in psychology, change consulting and business admin'(MA, MEd, MBA) from Cambridge, INSEAD, and Warwick and hold a psychology doctorate from Leicester. I am a Fellow of the CIPD (FCIPD), Association for Coaching (FAC) and British Psychological Society (AFBPsS). I sat on the main board of the Association for Coaching (AC) as their first Global Head of Standards and Accreditation and later created a new industry standard for team coaching. I co-created the Global Code of Ethics for Coaching and Mentoring, am sought after for my work raising standards of coaching and was made a lifetime AC Fellow for this. Prior to becoming a coach, I had a 20-year career spanning Plc. P&L leadership roles, and line roles in corporate performance, leadership development and OD, and as a global consulting practice lead.
