I am an interior designer with 30 years of experience in manufacturing, home furnishings, retail and advertising industries. I am currently the creative director / designer and product development lead with Capel rugs, a Troy NC company. I am managing all creative branding, visual merchandising, photography, graphic design, marketing, print ad design, video/ commercial advertising, social media and website design. I collaborate with Shopify, Amazon, Walmart, YouTube and Google to promote and sell our products. I create effective sales presentations for partners and customers, as well as design and develop new products to enhance their product assortment. I am responsible for the showroom design, visual merchandising and layout in our High Point and Las Vegas showrooms, and I work closely with the showroom managers to execute the display of our new collections. Recently, I have created construction plans and designed our new showroom in High Point. I also collaborate with our retail store managers to enhance the retail displays in Troy, Richmond, Raleigh, and Indianapolis. As the product designer, I track color trends and maintain a membership with CMG to forecast future color trends. Tracking and following current styles in interior design to maintain a current product assortment with our imported area rugs and communicating with suppliers abroad to execute new designs and organize development of imported goods. I request samples and provide design and construction direction with color samples and CAD reviews. Domestic product is a main priority of my position within the company, I am in charge of selecting and creating new colors and combinations for our dyes, as well as developing new rug constructions, and designs. I manage a team of skilled artisans from concept thru completion and follow the products through to sales and marketing.
