About Dee Duncan

I have been an educator for almost 40 years. I began my journey as a science educator and later wrote curriculum using inquiry and thematic units for a school, I later, got to lead. The school's name was The School for Environmental Studies. That community inspired me in terms of what teaching and learning can look and sound like so that every student has an opportunity to grow academically and socially. In all, I had the opportunity to found three schools, all of them with an environmental/social justice component. All of them, focused on a culture that allowed students to engage in relevant and meaningful teaching and learning as well as a focus on supporting all students to be inclusive and supportive of one another. Currently, I am a senior coach for EL Education. Supporting teachers, students and leaders to be more than they think possible.
