About Dee McHenry

After graduating from W&M with honors in business administration and working in commercial banking in Washington, DC, I moved back to Williamsburg in 1986 and took over management of a real estate firm. I spent the next 22 years primarily focused on being a real estate agent, mom and business consultant. After getting my daughter off to college in 2007 and looking to push myself and take the plunge (no pun intended, honestly!) into a new career which married my business background with a more outdoors-based lifestyle, I began contract work with Valeo Films, a production company specializing in underwater, equine and wildlife film production. In late 2008, I moved to Ocala in north central Florida and signed on full time with VFI. Over the ensuing years I worked as a producer (and backup camera operator in a pinch!), traveling to some of the most beautiful places in the world, while contributing to numerous documentary, marketing and PSA projects. In 2015, urged by friends looking for sound real estate advice, I obtained my sales associate license in Florida, and spent the following 6 years helping colleagues with their real estate acquisitions on an as-needed basis. In late 2021, I retired from VFI to focus full-time on the residential real estate business in the Ocala area.
