The truth is when I looked at my life and what is was going to become, that felt more fearful than what I was feeling after trauma. I knew I couldn't live that way with what had happened to me effecting my every decision. I decided no, that's not for me, I can't and don't want to live that way and I made a decision to do work on myself and free myself from the emotional suffering of trauma. The truth was once I made the decision, it really didn't take that long at all. Now it is a distant memory with little emotional impact on my life. It rarely affects what I do in life.
