About Deeba Aiman

A throughout first class, I possess an Honors and Masters in English Literature with a Bachelors in Education from the prestigious Mumbai University. I have had the opportunity to study at Hartmann College, one of India’s best schools where I completed my secondary (ICSE) and higher secondary (ISC) education. I carry with myself around 16 years of rich experience in teaching, coaching, guiding and mentoring school and college students in the areas of English Language & Literature. And too, I have had international experience of teaching English to Chinese and Indonesian students during my trips abroad with my husband who is an International Design academic. I am also writing a novel which is on the verge of completion. With an objective to excel in English education my research interests focus on Shakespeare, learning theory of First Language English and instructional design. I have delivered various seminars and presentations related to English teaching, creative writing and innovative teaching strategies. With an expertise in teaching English Literature and Language at Secondary and tertiary levels, I am also competent at teaching English as a second language to foreign students. Completed a research thesis on “The study of effective use of computers by students and teachers of SSC schools in India” as part of the Bachelor of Education programme. Presented a research paper in the seminar “Learner Diversity” on the sub-theme “Hearing Impairment” organized by Rizvi College of Education on January 21, 2010. Attended Cambridge Assessment course for A levels. Received several awards in debate, speech, poetry, dramatics & declamation. Hobbies also include traveling, photography and writing novels. Carrying 16 years of experience into teaching English Language and Literature, I thrive to learn/experience more. I amalgamate creativity and English to enhance teaching-learning process keeping Creative writing an essential element. Job Responsibilities- Teaching English Language & Literature to the students of IGSE, A Levels and BBA- Academic delivery planning & arrangement- Monitoring and evaluation of academic and research activities by students- Paper setting, invigilation and evaluation of examination papers- Regular interaction with parents for student feedback- Worked as subject matter expert and editor for college magazine and website- Helped management actively in PR and media communication including social media and advertisement design- Actively mentored and motivated students in various extra curricular activites.
