About Deena Farley

Board certified and licensed Occupational Therapist and Healthcare Consultant with extensive experience in operational and clinical rehabilitation, consulting, claims processing, onsite field experience, and compliance in a variety of healthcare arenas including skilled nursing facilities, inpatient rehabilitation facilities, long-term care, and outpatient settings. She has served in innumerable capacities including the completion of frequent medical necessity and technical audits serving as an Independent Review Organization (IRO), with results reviewed by the Office of the Inspector General (OIG). Her experience in participating in a variety of IRO audits offers guidance and training on operational processes, claim submittals, coding, and medical necessity requirements. Other audit capacities include patient scheduling audits identifying patient overlaps, regulatory and audit fundamentals specifically related to the Patient Driven Payment Model (PDPM), managed care and government programs, mergers and acquisitions, outpatient billing and coding, appeals and denials under the U.S. Department of Justice scrutiny, specific hospital coding, and improbable day scenario cases.
