About Deepa Mathew
I am both a farmer and an entrepreneur. I made the decision to transition from a Ph.D. program in Pharmaceutics to pursue opportunities in the travel industry. Initially, I served as a tour curator in the Fort Kochi and Mattanchery regions, with a particular emphasis on initiatives concerning Climate Change Resistant Food and the Handloom sector in Chendamangalam.Subsequently, I co-established Govindamangalam Homestay, a heritage accommodation in Fort Kochi, dedicated to providing travelers with distinctive and authentic Kerala experiences.Driven by my fervor for agriculture, I have developed a trail highlighting the lives of farmers and the local produce in the Idukki region. To date, our farm has welcomed over 100 guests for lunches and guided tours.Presently, my primary endeavor revolves around the creation of a platform showcasing locally sourced products from my region, with a special emphasis on renowned spices such as Cardamom, Nutmeg, Clove, and Pepper. Through Flavour Village, we aim to establish connections with ethically-minded farmers and offer their goods to customers worldwide.
