Dr. R. Deepa, a Gold Medalist from PSG College of Technology (Bachelor of Engineering, 1991) with a Masters in Business Administration has 8 years of industry experience in various positions like Vice President – Human Resources, General Manager and Management Representative for ISO. As the management representative for ISO, Dr. Deepa was instrumental in creating the ISO process from scratch for the organization, certifying the organization and maintaining the ISO Certification. Deepa secured her Ph.D in Emotional Intelligence from Anna University, Chennai in the year 2012. In her academic tenure of 10 years thus far, she completed an AICTE funded research project titled “Diagnosing and Enhancing the Emotional Intelligence of IT Professionals for Service Excellence” and a UGC Funded Research work titled “Designing an emotional intelligence test for medical students and developing an emotional intelligence training program for graduating medical students”. Deepa received the ""AIMS-ICFAI Best Teacher" award from the Association of Indian Management Schools in 2022,"CMA-STC Management Researcher of the year" award in 2022 from Coimbatore Management International, and Outstanding Management Teacher" award from AIMS International in January 2020. She also secured the “Woman Achiever of the Year” award from the PSG & Sons’ Charitable Trust in March 2018 for her meritorious service to the Institution. A recipient of “Best Paper” and “Best Case” awards, Deepa has presented and published papers in various national and international conferences and journals. Dr. Deepa secured the Bronze award at the Indian Management Conclave 2018 for her experiential learning initiative “Teaching Cross-cultural Communication through Theatre Play”. She secured the first prize in the Best Practices in Student Engagement Contest organized by CII in the year 2017. She also secured the Gold Medal for Innovation in Teaching from AIMS in August 2015, for using theatre play to teach intercultural communication. She has designed, developed and delivered a course “Emotional Intelligence for Managers” for the MBA students and also conducts training programs on Emotional Intelligence for corporate executives. Dr. Deepa is a certified Counselor and an NLP Practitioner. She has published a book "Unearthing your emotional intelligence" in June 2020.
