Hello, I'm Deepak Deo, nearing the completion of my PhD in Astrophysics and Curriculum & Instruction at UMKC. Over the past 6.5 years, I've dedicated myself to teaching physics, mentoring students, and pursuing research aimed at unraveling the mystery of why certain galaxies cease star formation, despite conditions that seemingly favor such processes. Outside of my academic interests, I have a strong passion for sports and actively participate in a wide range of activities such as cricket, soccer, table tennis, pickleball, badminton, rock climbing, bowling, golf, kickball, and long-distance running, often on a competitive level. These sports have played a significant role in maintaining my physical health and have taught me important skills like teamwork, resilience, and striving for excellence. Professionally, I find myself at an exciting crossroads, with a keen interest in contributing to pioneering research in astrophysics or delving into the transformative field of artificial intelligence. My aspiration is to leverage science or technology in ways that significantly benefit humanity. A core goal of mine is to utilize my expertise and resources to provide quality education to underprivileged children, giving them a fair chance to pursue their dreams. This summer, I am actively seeking an internship that aligns with my expertise in data analysis and visualization, along with my deep interest in machine learning and AI. I am especially interested in projects using these technologies to benefit society—whether that's in education, environmental protection, healthcare, or other areas. I'm eager for opportunities that not only foster my personal and professional development but also enable me to have a meaningful impact on the world.
