About Deepak Paswan

Since 2014, I am into the rural development work, specifically " Livelihood enhancement" of women farmers ( small, marginalized/Tribal) of the rural most pockets of India to quench a thirst of mine to create a sustainable livelihood that may alleviate poverty and prevail distress free and peaceful life. I am handling, as well as, handled many projects of rural livelihood. I have collectivized rural women by promoting more than 200 SHGs (Self Help group). I generated awareness, while handling the NRLM-MGNREGS- CFT project, and facilitated the community to create assets through MGNREGA; utilized these assets ( ponds ) for increasing the command areas and crop intensity percentage. Also supported CIFA ( Central Institute of Fresh Water Aquaculture) for 2 years for rolling out Tribal support project ( Fish Rearing) in West Singhbhum, Jharkhand. I have scaled up DSR ( Direct Seeded Rice ) in a village. I have initiated the cultivation of French Bean ( High Yielding Vegetable) in a village. Integrated goat, BYP, Duck and fish rearing in the 2 blocks. I have piloted a low cost BYP shed prototype for Ultrapoor. I handled WHH project to make zero hunger panchayats. I have promoted 150 producer groups and mobilized 6500 shareholders and led a district level livestock FPO. I have built synergy with the government departments like MGNREGA, Animal Husbandry, Agriculture and Panchayti Raj to bridge the gap between community and Government; and CSOs like SRLM to collectively intervene in the community for the common cause. I have also handled the CSR projects like HDFC - FRDP and currently also anchoring HDFC - WATER ( Women Collectives led Action Towards Environment Rejuvenation ). I successfully mentored ( popularly called Field Guide) 2 Development Apprentices, for 1 year, to reach their goal of becoming an Executive in PRADAN.
