About Deepan Kapasi

I am a Melbourne-based Marine & Petrochemical Surveyor with over 10 years of combined experience in marine cargo inspections, engineering project execution, and stakeholder coordination across the oil, gas, and chemical sectors. My current role involves managing complex shipping and inspection operations, conducting bunker surveys, and ensuring compliance with IFIA and API standards. I’ve worked with major clients like ExxonMobil, AMPOL, and Viva Energy, consistently delivering reliable results, mentoring junior surveyors, and improving operational workflows. I also have a strong foundation in mechanical engineering and project execution. Earlier in my career, I worked as a Project Engineer managing design, scheduling, and vendor negotiations for large-scale mechanical engineering projects. My experience with tools like SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and SAP gives me an edge in technical problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration. I’m passionate about contributing to roles where I can apply my technical expertise, support teams, and add value to larger outcomes, whether through safety, quality, or process improvement. I'm open to opportunities that allow me to grow, create impact, and contribute meaningfully to the industry or community.
