About Deepikaa Gupta

I’m an experienced, internationally educated professional, with a passion for economic development, human rights, community service and engagement. My work focusses on providing access to economic development for all Canadians. After a successful career in India as an Assistant Professor and Career Advisor, I relocated to the Peel Region of the Greater Toronto Area. Working for the Social Planning Council, I developed impactful programs and training to promote inclusion. I now work for Grey County, where I manage Local Immigration Partnership to attract and retain new Canadians to the region, and ensure their successful economic,social and cultural integration into the community. A strong believer in ‘what gets measured gets done, I use my extensive expertise in data analytics to ensure our programs are impactful. I also have developed strong collaborative skills, which are needed with the number of stakeholders involved with these initiatives! Since moving to Ontario, I have continued my dedication to learning and have added to my academic degrees in Human Rights and Train-the-Trainer certifications, with a Certificate course in Economic Development from Waterloo University and Diploma in Community Development and Social Service, and Certification in Equity, Diversity and Social Justice. I have also become a busy volunteer with Panorama India, the Canada India Foundation and the Association of Professional Social Workers and Practitioners. I also continue my research and share my learnings with students as a Research Assistant at York University, I am a proud member of ISA (the International Sociological Association) and a life member of APSWDP (the Association of Professional Social Workers and Development Practitioners).
