About Deion Bonser

I’m a highly competitive person – but don’t worry. My favourite person to compete against is myself. My favourite game at the moment is something I like to call “how much value can I add?”, where I try to make a big a difference as possible; competing against an alternate universe in which I don’t exist. My preferred position: Reliability Engineering Through a few years of playing this game I’ve realised that if you’re only thinking about what you can change in the plant as an individual, you’re limiting your potential. I’ve worked with so many fantastic people who are passionate about making positive change, from the front line to business functions and project managers. They’re raring to go but just need some direction to know sure that the effort they’re putting in is also having the biggest impact. I suppose we’re all a little competitive. If I, as the reliability engineer, prioritise the risks to the plant and identify the best improvement opportunities, I can empower the rest of the passionate problem solvers in business to fix them. If they know that they are working on something important and value adding, I have full confidence that they are going to do some great work and I can’t wait to be part of that journey.
