Background

About Deirdre Anderson

I am a research scientist/engineer with a strong emphasis in tissue engineering, biomaterials, and biomechanics. My current work examines vascular endothelial cells and graft implant technology, but I have also worked extensively in the field of cartilage regeneration. I am valued as an employee for my ability to self-motivate, handle multiple tasks, manage complex projects with a variety of participants, and communicate results. My laboratory experience includes cell and tissue culture, creating glass nanoparticles, examining drug dissolution from polymer coated surfaces, studying surface properties of orthopedic implants, cell micropatterning, and developing tissue-engineered constructs. From my work consulting on technical presentations for a variety of engineering and science fields and through my own experience presenting my work in written and oral forms, I consider myself an expert in successfully communicating technical topics to a wide range of audiences. I also have considerable experience in leadership, mentoring, and working on a team.Specialties: Technical communication, experimental design and analysis, mechanical and biological testing, project management
