About Deirdre Bourke

I am currently Marketing & Operations Director of Microsoft Ireland and play a key role in the strategic direction and the running of the Irish operation. My previous positions have been in leadership and general management of the Irish commercial operations for Eli Lilly. This included overseeing strategic direction, financial and commercial performance. Achievements include developing best practice for reimbursement and access for Lilly products; overseeing the development of some of the largest market shares in the world for significant Lilly brands and developing the annual business plan and forecasting across all business units. Also was also responsible for undertaking extensive change management by implementing a wide range of cost saving and restructuring initiatives which significantly increased profitability and enhanced strategic corporate focus. As the Country Lead for Eli Lilly in Ireland, a further responsibility has been building and maintaining stakeholder relationships across industry, among commercial partners and with Government. I was also a Director on the Board of Eli Lilly & Co which represents the company's Irish operations which employ over people across three sites. Other significant corporate leadership experience include roles as a Board Member of the American Chamber of Commerce Ireland and member of the Strategy Board for the Irish Pharmaceutical Healthcare Association (IPHA).
