About Deirdre Lanigan

Deirdre is a corporate/commercial and real estate lawyer who works with a wide range of clients – from start-ups to large privately held companies in the retail, hospitality, real estate, manufacturing and health-care sectors. Deirdre maintains a broad corporate/commercial practice and regularly advises entrepreneurs on business formation, organization and compliance matters, and has experience advising corporations and shareholders on mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations and restructurings. She has negotiated and drafted contracts for numerous business transactions, including the acquisition and disposition of assets and shares, as well as commercial arrangements including sale of goods agreements, service agreements and property co-ownership and management agreements. Deirdre also helps clients access bank and equity financing. With respect to her real estate practice, Deirdre advises clients on all aspects of real estate including the acquisition, financing and sale of commercial real estate and farmland, conveyancing, land development matters, limited partnership structuring and commercial leasing matters, representing both landlords, property managers and tenants. Deirdre has experience advising Indigenous clients on economic development and land management, including on both designated lands those that are subject to a land code. As a result of her involvement in the family business, Deirdre has expertise in alcohol licensing, liquor legislation, policies and guidelines and often works with local breweries based on her in depth knowledge of their business and the industry.
