I am a highly experienced University Educator with over sixteen years’ experience teaching in Further/Continuing and Third Level education in both Ireland and in the UAE. My PhD was awarded from the Department of History and Medieval Studies at the National University of Ireland, Maynooth. I am an historian and an anthropologist as well as a field trained archaeologist. I have specializations in gender, age, and identity in history, sociological theory on migration, urbanization and identity, as well as ethnographic, digital and cultural studies. I have a Masters in Adult and Community Education and have extensive experience of working with both male and female learners from diverse educational and cultural and linguistic backgrounds of all ages and abilities in both Ireland in the UAE. Eleven years’ experience working with at-risk learners. I am also a qualified English teacher and have taught English as a second language for 4.5 years in the UAE.
