About Deirdre Silberstein

Deirdre has over 40 years of experience in building companies, lines of business, and growth initiatives, as an entrepreneur, consultant, and corporate executive. Through her consulting firm Silberstein & Associates LLC (established in 2001), Deirdre has worked with many businesses by focusing on two areas- Strategy/Operations: Deirdre works with US and global companies and entrepreneurial ventures by helping companies develop and execute strategies and plans; establish their marketplaces; identify growth opportunities; and create and implement sales, marketing, and communications initiatives to meet business goals- Marketing/Communications: Deirdre works with businesses, entrepreneurs, and professional services firms on building customized, realistic, and coherent content, marketing, and communications programs, and on implementing these programs to meet business and strategic goals. She teaches courses and workshops and publishes on these topics. Deirdre works with Columbia University’s Executive MS and MS in Technology Management programs. She teaches the Leading Disruptive Change and the Capstone Project Courses; and mentors students as they develop plans for intrapreneurial projects or entrepreneurial companies. Deirdre spent 15 years at Deloitte, initially as a marketing manager working with the tax function and various industry groups. She was then asked to develop and run multiple initiatives, including a global publications and communications program, a competitive intelligence capability, and global knowledge management system. Earlier in her career, Deirdre worked in the publishing industry in New York. She acquired and developed lines of trade books, college-level textbooks, and educational materials (with profit responsibility for all lines). She developed one of the industry’s first electronic education-publishing project, the forerunner of today’s computer-based educational and learning programs. Deirdre received her BA from Stanford University (History, with honors) and MBA from Columbia Business School (Marketing and Management, with honors).
