About Deirdre Westrate

Deirdre Westrate is one of ten Grant Program Managers in the Victim Services Division of the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute for the State of Indiana. She is responsible for managing State and Federal grants to human trafficking, sexual assault and legal services agencies totaling over 9.1 million dollars. The Victim Services Division disperses Federal grant dollars to government agencies and non-profit organizations that provide services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse. Grant Managers review grant applications, perform site visits to verify compliance with Federal and State guidelines and provide telephone and email support to project directors and related staff. In addition to developing division processes/protocols Deirdre is responsible for verifying and approving monthly and quarterly grant fund reimbursement requests for budget items identified in the grant awards. Prior to re-locating to Indiana Deirdre’s professional work experience included employment in higher education as a Graduate Admissions Assistant at Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs where she managed the application and admission process for two degree (MPP and PhD) programs. Westrate received a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Biblical Studies and Leadership at Philadelphia Biblical University in Philadelphia, PA and completed the Management Development Certificate Program (MDCP) at Princeton University.
