About Deja Williams

Hi, I'm Deja. I'm passionate about community development, youth empowerment, and making a real impact through nonprofit work. I have experience in program coordination, event planning, and research, and I love finding ways to support underserved communities. From educating parents at Safe Infant Sleep, to mentoring teen parents at Young United Parents, to organizing large-scale events at the SBA and Safe Infant Sleep, I thrive in roles that bring people together and create opportunities for growth. As an educator, mentor, and young mother in the workforce, I am always looking for ways to get out information that matters and uplift the community around me in profound ways. Currently, I’m earning my B.A. in Political Science with a minor in Communications at the University of Maryland Global Campus. My current role is the Outreach and Engagement intern at WETA. I'm excited to keep building connections, driving meaningful change, and creating further opportunities for communities in need.
