Through my 30-plus years of healthcare experience I have acquired a great working knowledge of plant operations and maintenance, current applicable federal, JCAHO, and code requirements. The success of the maintenance program has incorporated these codes and standards, and has been one of the major factors in becoming the top energy star rated “hospital” in the nation, and it is critical to the functional operations, safety and dependability of the hospital. My experience as Director of Engineering & Facilities includes planning, organizing, directing staff, coordinating and controlling the activities of plant operations/engineering, including associated budgetary issues. My experience both in the healthcare market and as a general superintendent for a Houston based Construction Company allows an advance skill-set beneficial to the healthcare system. I possess an expert knowledge in National Fire Protection Association, Occupational Safety Health Administration, and The Joint Commission Standards. Successfully lead the Engineering, Maintenance, Safety, and Environmental Compliance programs, where I have been answerable to administrative management and regulatory authorities. The facilities have always received very positive results in every regulatory inspection. In summary, my 25-years of experience in both construction and healthcare, I have been able to develop highly motivated, functional, and multi-disciplinary teams that address and successfully implement our action plans with outstanding results. These teams include representatives from all areas of the hospital, including Doctors, hourly and exempt employees, and include partners throughout the community.
