About Della A. Rees

I have over 30-years experience in Healthcare. I began my professional journey as a Primary Therapist. I provided therapy to patients with mood, thought, and substance use disorders. I also facilitated group therapy and completed intake assessments with initial diagnosis and recommended treatment level with plan. I was advanced to Program Manager with five employees directly reporting to me. I ran all aspects of the program, including metrics of compliance and success. After over ten years as a clinician, I transitioned to a major Detroit Health system. I began in Quality Improvement and Patient Safety (QI/PS). That position matched my analytical and critical thinking skills. I completed root cause analyses and presented those to Executive Senior Leadership. I am comfortable with hospital performance metrics as related to QI/PS. I was offered the Director of Behavioral Science position within Henry Ford Health System, teaching medical residents behavioral health, communication, patient / physician relationship, and the connection of mind and body. developed unique longitudinal curriculum and integrated behavioral health into the clinic and hospital. I established competency metrics and monitored all behavioral health educational progression. I developed and lead a quality improvement program and co-lead the resident research projects and presentations. Currently, I have returned to direct patient care at Lifestance Health. I enjoy a full panel with a variety of pathology. I specialize in patients with both behavioral and medical diagnoses, LGBTQ+/ Gender Affirming care, and trauma. I am a confident clinician with a calming approach to help others grow.
