About Denisa Mateus

Denisa Mateus graduated in Biology (2003), did a MSc in Cell Biology (2006) and obtained her PhD in Biochemistry in 2011 studying Genetic code alterations and the impact of decoding errors in cells. Then she developed Post-Doctoral research at IPATIMUP (2011-2013) in the effects of mRNA mistranslation and the therapeutic potential of tRNAs in cell cancer models. During 2013-2014 she worked as Post-Doctoral researcher at the international project “New Approaches to Fight Tuberculosis” funded by Harvard Medical School Portuguese Program where she conducted research at IBMC, CNC and CEDOC institutions. In 2016 she worked as Science and Technology manager in the H2020 international project SIMPATHY – Stimulating Innovation Management of Polypharmacy and Adherence in The ElderlY (lead by the Scottish Government). Since January 2017 she works at the Genomics Unit of Biocant-Technology Transfer Association as a Post-Doctoral researcher, where she develops innovative research oriented to the market on Vine and Wine industry. Her current main research interests include Genomics, Microbiology, Vine and Wine R&D, High-throughput studies, Chronic-associated Diseases, Science communication and project management.
